ABOUT ABOUT

Sure, you've enjoyed a WINE and FOOD pairing before...but what would happen if you paired WINE and BALLET?

Tell me more!

On Wednesday, January 30th, Ballet Idaho is collaborating with Par Terre Winery to bring you a unique event that you won’t want to miss! For $5 you will be treated to an exclusive open rehearsal experience – with wine included! Go behind the scenes with the Ballet Idaho dancers and enjoy an exclusive sneak peek at their upcoming show, (re)Define, which they’ll perform at The Morrison Center on February 8th and 9th.

But what does this have to do with wine?

Good question! For this open rehearsal, Par Terre Winery (locally owned and operated by two professional dancers) will provide a tasting of four of their current wines to sip as you watch the dancers rehearse. Par Terre co-founder Mallory Walker and Ballet Idaho Artistic Director Garrett Anderson have pulled on their combined wine and dance expertise and have specifically paired each wine with a specific piece from (re)Define.

Sounds fun! But how does it work?

Mallory (from Par Terre) and Garrett (from Ballet Idaho) will briefly describe how the movement and feel of each dance, and the flavor profiles in each wine, lead to the wine and dance pairings that they chose. We will provide you with tasting cards so you can take notes on each wine, and each performance. After the rehearsal (which will be approximately 30 minutes) you'll be able to purchase a full glass of your favorite Par Terre wine before we open the rehearsal to audience questions and responses about the performances, the wine, or both!

But wait, is there more?

Of course there is! During the event we'll be raffling off two tickets to attend Ballet Idaho's (re)Define, as well as a bottle of your favorite Par Terre wine. Your admission includes one ticket for the raffle (but don't worry, additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the door).

What am I waiting for??

Seating is limited to 100 people, so we recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.  If you have questions you can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/balletidaho/ or email Ballet Idaho Marketing Director Liberty Klautsch at [email protected].
